Need Help here on pc tech. issues!

Hi I been trying to help my sister fix her labtop vista. She can't play any online games the requires download and install. I was wondering why?
After her last window update automatically she just couldn't play games like Cabal online us, USF, Trickster, etc...
I was wondering if anyone has a clue on how to fix this problem.
Also another issue is we can't change the Brightness using FN+F7 or F8 to adjust. I searched many sites for a solution did what they asked to but didn't fix anything.
Can someone help me on these issues for Window Vista Home Premium?
Thanks whoever can solve this issue is the best! I will + them!!

Problems with Cabal Online Us after starting game button and after Game guard started and finish nothing happens after the game just don't pop-up. *It worked fine before windows update*

Current Checklist:
-Checked firewalls
-Idk about graphic driver if it been uninstalled or needs update dunno
-Check anti-virus programs if its blocking games or not
-did re-installs a few times over and over
-somehow couldn't reformat vista by itself anyone know how?

Anyone can give me more info please!

Dear HHBurstOfFire ,
If you have saved her system settings before the update , you can restaure them . If not , try to see what happens to the driver of video card , i think is comes from there !

ur windows update is probably causing delays in the program the laptop may either be getting old. or your graphics driver is not functioning properly with the new update/ which may require an update of the graphics driver. you can check this under device manager.

First look, I guess the Prob is: "You cant open Game like USF"
Some options,

I think you must Update Some things,

Download First:
- New Framework 4.0(Or latest version)
- And Directx Latest Update.
1. If you Buy new PC you get automatically NVIDIA Driver Updated, But if you dont buy The PC, and you Install only new Windows(Likee VIsta) then you must Update your Drivers Wink

you can do it! Question: Do you have NVIDIA? if you have NVIDIA, go to the Main Site(Google it) And Download & Install your Graphics Driver. (Hope this Works)

- Other Options(Simple)
Open Game As ADMIN, cuz you must open all Exe(Games) as Admin on Win7 + Vista (You dont know this if you had XP)

- Other Options(HARD)
Re-Install Vista pack, Hope it works Wink

and UPDATE everything.
